Our Launch Experiences

Community Based Instruction

Community Based Instruction, also known as CBI, is intended for learners that are in need of rigorous training in their daily living skills. A CBI is also an informative and guided coaching opportunity that takes place in the community which provides learners real life opportunities. This best practice is to try and make available a diverse selection of interactive learning opportunities to help the learner obtain the skills needed to live in the real world. The ideas and skills that are presented in the training room are practiced in the real world setting in the community using CBI. These CBI experiences permit the learner to smell, see, hear, touch, and do things in a real world situation as opposed to something replicated or in a fake setting. By allowing the learner to practice their skills in a real environment it offers opportunities that are meaningful and more significant to the learner.

Community Based Vocational & Experiences

Community Based Vocational Experiences, also known as a CBVE, is when learners are given several different opportunities in the real world to work and experience an on the job situation. This where the learner understands about positive job skills and anticipated behaviors. The objective is to be able to give as many learners as possible an opportunity to be able to focus on the skills needed that will prepare them for a possible job placement in the future. All learners sign in for work before they leave for the job experience each day and they all sign out at the end of the day.
